Getting started is simple. The patient can consult their Health Care Provider (HCP) or schedule a virtual consultation with a licensed HCPs.
Like all medications, GLP-1 treatments can cause side effects. The most common are mild nausea, digestive changes, and decreased appetite which typically improve after the first few weeks.
Treatment begins with a 2.5 mg dose once weekly for the first 4 weeks. After that, the dose is increased to 5 mg once weekly for at least another 4 weeks.
From there, the Health Care Provider (HCP) may adjust the patient’s dose every 4 weeks based on the patient’s progress and how well the patient tolerates the medication. Further dosing options include 7.5 mg and 10 mg.
